Blog Challenge - the day I found out I was pregnant the first time.....

Like Sara I had been told I would have trouble getting pregnant and would probably need fertility treatments. Good LORD! How many people have been told this story? So I really didn't worry much about it.

Then, along came October 1990. I starting having these weird little pains. Like a little bitty knife in either side, in the lower abdomen. I thought I better go to the doctor and see what was up. The first thing they asked me was if I thought I might be pregnant, when my last period was, etc.... I really had no clue. I didn't even keep track of my periods since they were irregular, sometimes as much as three months apart. So, they did a pregnancy test and a pelvic exam.

The next detail I remember is when I was at work and got "the call". I about dropped the phone. I remember that when I hung up the phone, my co-worker John Ball was the first to find out what I was in shock about. I had this ear-to-ear grin on my face saying "I can't believe it... I'm pregnant... Wow!. Couldn't stop smiling. Couldn't stop the happiness I felt. I was just overwhelmed with happy happy happy. So, John Ball, made sure I called my John right away of course and I did. I don't remember the conversation at all, I was just in happy land somewhere.

I do remember at home that night. I felt like I was high. Seriously. I was silly, bouncing off walls just about, couldn't sit still, couldn't soak it all in.

A funny conclusion to the story. Jordan was born in May 1991, and I decided I wanted another one right away, and when I got pregnant with Steve a few months later, I KNEW. I mean I absolutely KNEW I was pregnant when I was just 2 or 3 weeks. The test was postive and everything, so John believed, but I KNEW. It was weird, but very cool.
